Series 90-30 System Background
The Series 90-30 platform, originally introduced by GE Fanuc and later supported under Emerson, is still deployed in industrial facilities operating long-cycle control systems. These installations frequently retain original communication architectures, including DeviceNet-based field networks.

Module Configuration and Installation Scope
The IC693DNM200-BC is a DeviceNet Master Module designed as a single-slot communication module for Series 90-30 and PACSystems RX3i controllers. The module installs on the main rack only and is not supported in remote or expansion racks.
Physical interfaces include one DeviceNet terminal and one RS232 9-pin D-shell female service port. The RS232 port is used for configuration, diagnostics, and firmware updates. Firmware upgrades are supported directly through this service interface.

DeviceNet Network Support and Messaging
The module supports DeviceNet transmission rates of 125K, 250K, and 500K baud. Network capacity includes support for up to 63 slave devices, with two I/O connections per slave, resulting in a total of 126 I/O connections.
Supported DeviceNet connection types are:
Polled
Strobe
Cyclic
Change of State (COS)
The IC693DNM200-BC also supports explicit messaging, UCMM, and one proxy connection per slave device. The module can operate simultaneously as a DeviceNet master and slave, enabling data exchange between multiple DeviceNet segments.

Data Transfer Limits and Fault Configuration
Per slave device, the module supports 255 bytes of input data and 255 bytes of output data. Total data transfer capacity is specified at 3972 input bytes and 3972 output bytes.
Fault behavior during DeviceNet communication loss is configurable. Output states and data handling can be defined at the system level to meet application-specific requirements during network interruptions.

Electrical Specifications and Output Design
The IC693DNM200-BC operates on 12–24 VDCand provides 32 output points, arranged in groups of eight.
Key electrical parameters include:
Output current: 0.5 A per point
Maximum current per group: 4 A
Maximum current per group common pin: 3 A
ON-state voltage drop: 0.3 VDC
ON/OFF response time: ≤ 0.5 ms
Inrush current: 5.4 A for 10 ms

Environmental Ratings and Revision Coverage
The module is rated for operation at 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F). Storage temperature is specified at -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F).
